Jay Nelson

Teachers - Grade 6/7 Homeroom

received my Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011.  Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from Briercrest College.  I have been teaching at TCA since 2014; the primary subjects that I teach is Language Arts, Science, and Art.

I have always had a passion for teaching junior high students and love having this opportunity.  I am most passionate about teaching Language Arts to junior high students.  I am an avid reader and love to get my students into reading as well.  I strongly believe that students who form a love of reading will be set up for success in the future.  I also love teaching art and helping them discover the world of art and their inner artists.  I run the school's Jr. High Leadership Club which runs a weekly canteen, a biweekly recycling program, daily office duty, and other various fundraisers throughout the year.  Outside of school, I love spending time with my wife and four kids.  We love camping and hiking in the summer.
